Extension to a 19th Century Border Control Dyke House Maastricht/Smeermaas This unusually located Dyke house was located on the edge of a canal connecting Maastricht with Belgium. This site was complicated by being built up against an embankment to north, surrounded b trees and delineated on the south by a second embankment. Natural light penetration had to be maximized to render kitchen/dining a live-able living space.
