aura design office is a design practice with a diversity of experience and expertise, from larger scale commercial projects overseas, specialisation in heritage restoration and conservation, to the small scale intrigue of residential and commercial projects locally.
In whatever context, aura design office seeks practical, appropriate, sustainable solutions; architecture with empathy for the environment, urban landscape and culture.
Richard Eastman heads up aura design office; a design with 35+ years experience, where the underlying philosophy is one of context. The context is not just urban, natural or physical landscapes, but also our social, political, environmental and traditional fabrics for living, work and leisure. We design with a mixture of wonder & responsibility. In form, substance, sense and emotion; design that cares for difference, to make a difference.
Richard Eastman has 15 years of URBAN international experience as a project leader and senior documenter in commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, hotels, tourist accommodation, alterations and additions and heritage conservation and restoration. See “pre-AURA PROJECTS”
The REGIONAL experience is now. With 15 years experience smaller scale commercial and residential architecture in urban and rural settings in the mid north coast Bellingen and Gleniffer and now located in Newcastle and the Hunter Region. Projects include alterations and additions, new residences, art studios, tourist accommodation, secondary dwellings as well as heritage restorations of McNally House and a former bakehouse in Bellingen.
