This initial proposal is a study in a solar passive, sustainable commercial office development in the heart of Coffs Harbour medical precinct (West End High street) for a local orthopaedic surgeon. The consulting rooms, administrative and waiting areas are ‘cocooned’ on all sides by courtyards which were accordingly organised as private, semi private and public spaces to suit. Waiting areas and hallways are bathed in a sea of light and from clerestory windows and internal courtyard-sculpture garden.  The clerestory windows cross ventilate and extract summer heat.

Access and mobility were addressed with a ramps at front and rear entrances, with a main hallway connecting the street entrance and car park entrance.
